Our beautiful city is on full display during the Victorian Stroll. The first Saturday of every December the people of our community assemble on the square to celebrate Albia’s Victorian heritage. Tour historic homes, browse period clothing and antiques, take a carriage ride and enjoy live entertainment. The summer brings Albia Restoration Days, another highly anticipated event in town. The celebration pays tribute to Robert Bates, the father of the restoration movement that helped to shape Albia as we know it today. Festivities include a parade, art show, vintage car displays, class reunions and more.
For a snapshot of Iowa life in the old days, visit the Monroe County Historical Museum in Albia. Check out a reconstructed coal mine shaft complete with authentic equipment and real coal. Tour period rooms affixed with antique appointments.
