The celebration pays tribute to Robert Bates, the father of the restoration movement that helped to shape Albia as we know it today. Festivities include a parade, art show, vintage car displays, class reunions and more.
For a snapshot of Iowa life in the old days, visit the Monroe County Historical Museum in Albia. Check out a reconstructed coal mine shaft complete with authentic equipment and real coal. Tour period rooms affixed with antique appointments.
